For safe use of your La Germania appliance, ensure it’s properly installed, grounded, and that ventilation openings aren’t blocked. Avoid leaving burners unattended and use recommended cookware to prevent accidents. If the appliance won’t start, check if it’s securely plugged in and that the circuit breaker hasn’t tripped. For uneven heating, make sure cookware is centered on burners or racks. If issues persist, consult your manual or contact support for assistance.
How do I light my gas stove safely?

For Automatic One-Handed Ignition Systems:

  1. Turn the gas knob to the ignition position, pressing it in to activate sparking on all burners.
  2. Hold the knob in until the burner ignites, then keep holding for an additional 5 seconds to activate the safety valve.
  3. Release the knob and adjust to the desired setting.

For Two-Handed Ignition Systems:

  1. Turn the gas knob to the ignition position, pressing it in to turn.
  2. Press the ignition button to activate sparking on all burners.
  3. Hold the gas knob in until the burner ignites, then continue holding for 5 more seconds to activate the safety valve.
  4. Release the knob and adjust to the desired setting.

During Power Outages:

  1. Always light your match or lighter before turning the gas knob.
  2. Turn the gas knob to the ignition position, pressing it in to turn.
  3. Ignite the burner, then hold the knob in for 5 seconds to activate the safety valve.
  4. Release the knob and adjust to the desired setting.

What should I do if my gas stove won't ignite?
  • If your stove does not spark during the lighting procedure, 
    • Check that your electricity supply to the stove is working, if not light your stove manually.
    • Check that your burner caps and bases are installed correctly.
    • Log a call for our technical department to check your stove {link to service dept}
  • If your stove does spark but does not ignite. 
    • Check that your gas cylinder is not empty and the supply valves are open.

Why does my gas stove flame keep flickering?

Flickering flames on your gas stove may be caused by a dirty burner, low gas pressure, or a blocked gas line. Clean the burners, make sure the burner caps and bases are located correctly and check the gas supply. If the issue persists, you may need to call a technician for further inspection

What should I do if I smell gas near my stove?

How often should I get my gas stove serviced?

Its recommended to service your gas stove every 1-2 years. Regular maintenance ensures the stove is working efficiently, prevents gas leaks, and reduces the risk of fire hazards.

Can I install a gas hob/electric oven myself?

No. A certified SAQCC gas practitioner and certified electrician are required. A COC (Certificate Of Conformity) is required.

What is a gas Certificate of Conformity and why do I need it?

A gas COC (Certificate of Conformity) is a document signed and issued by a SAQCC registered gas practitioner. A CoC confirms that the gas installation conforms to the relevant regulations and is a legal requirement for all gas installations

How close to the wall can the gas stove be installed?

Your gas stove can be installed up against the kitchen wall. However, 15-20mm space is required from cupboards for ventilation. An electrical source of ignition has to be 20cm away from the closest burner on your stove.
